A Milestone

I bought a car today.

A 2004 Kia Spectra.

Have I officially crossed the threshold to adulthood?

I'll let you know...

It Came Upon the Midnight Clear

And ye, beneath life's crushing load,
Whose forms are bending low,
Who toil along the climbing way
With painful steps and slow,
Look now! For glad and golden hours
Come swiftly on the wing
O rest beside the weary road
And hear the angels sing.

For, lo, the days are hastening on,
By prophet seen of old,
When wit the ever circling years
Shall come the time foretold
When the new heav'n and earth shall own
The Prince of Peace, their King
And all the world give back the song
Which now the angels sing.

Random Blog Following

I don't even remember how I discovered this blog. I think someone recommended it on theirs. But this person is a theology student and has many deep ruminations on life and the Lord. He has posted some wonderful quotes about Jesus as he anticipates being finished with exams. I thought them worth reading, but I felt like a bit of a fraud just posting them on my blog since I've never read from any of the men he quotes. Perhaps I should start...

It Takes Two...

This is a picture of my instructor Mychael and I doing the tango. My sister made the dress for me. It was absolutely perfect.

Conversations About God

In my classroom while transitioning from working at desks to sitting at the front of the room:

A Boy (with a really cute Spanish name that I won't use), to me: The devil's not real.

Me: Actually, he is.

Same boy in surprise (and maybe a twinge of fear): He is?!?

Me: Yes, he is, but you don't have to worry because I know someone else who is.

Boy: I know! God!

Me: That's right. And He will protect you.

Girl who overheard conversation: How do you know about God?

Me: I just have learned about Him.

Girl: I go to church.

Me: I know you do. (To group) Okay kids lets get settled.

Those kids.
